About
I like to say I went from corn to corporate when I moved from the sleepy flatlands of Indiana to a
suburb of Washington DC. I had my first power job here, grew into a supportive church community, and
married a local.
Art has been in my life as I’ve grown, starting with my mother’s love of pottery and drawing and now
becoming more of who I am as I speak with my own mediums and techniques. I am drawn to what is
cheerful and life giving in life. We live in a broken world, surrounded by difficulty and suffering.
The gift of sight allows me to find encouragement in what is beautiful in creation and I want that
sweet taste to be echoed in what I create myself.
Forever learning, constantly playing with unexpected color palettes, always inspired by color, color,
and more color, I work hard to break away from stiff, rigid form to capture a loose movement of
color on the canvas.
